The objectives of PROTEO Undergraduate Summer Studentships are:
To financially help promising candidates to undertake a summer studentship within PROTEO;
To allow undergraduate students to become acquainted with research and allow them to find a host laboratory to undertake graduate studies;
To improve students’ CVs and help them to be more competitive in scholarship programs from government agencies;
Number of scholarships
Depending on budget allocation, ten (10) undergraduate studentships of $3,000 are awarded each year, for a total of $30,000.
Scholarship competitions and application deadlines
Application deadline is:
April 1 st
Scholarships are offered to graduate students under the direction of regular members, working on projects related to scientific themes of PROTEO.
The student should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 / 4.33.
A student can receive a summer studentship only once.
A student is not eligible to PROTEO summer studentships if he already receives a scholarship of more than $2,500. An attestation can be offered to the student who withdraws.
Complete application material must contain a project summary (one page maximum), a CV, and a recent copy of academic transcripts (electronic, unofficial are acceptable).
The evaluation committee, based on member evaluations, ranks applications in order of priority and awards the studentships according to the order.
Members of the evaluation committee that are in conflict do not vote.
The evaluation committee will promote the award of one studentship per research group. However, depending on the number and quality of applications received, it will be possible to award more than one studentship per research group. In order not to complicate the selection process, the maximum number of applications submitted by each research group is limited to two.
Scholarship payment process
If a candidate is no longer eligible, he is required to inform PROTEO as soon as possible so that the payments cease.
How to apply
To apply, candidates must fill the PROTEO scholarship form and transmit complete application material (one pdf file) by email to Pierre-Yves Savard.
