The Protein School

Protein School is a virtual school whose mission is to link the science of PROTEO researchers to the Quebec school network. We democratize biotechnology and protein science by providing fun, engaging and curriculum-linked resources. Our activities demonstrate the importance of proteins in our daily lives, in a practical and concrete way.

At primary level, we offer a do-it-yourself learning situation in the classroom. It introduces the subject of nutrition through simple scientific experiments linked to the PFEQ learning progression.

In secondary school, you can always consult our interactive virtual conference on vaccines, accompanied by a learning sequence on the immune system offered in partnership with École en réseau.
Or have fun learning about the digestive system and biotechnologies with our free ENZYMO* Web game. An excellent tool to help your students understand scientific models, and their limitations. They’ll discover with their own hands the unsuspected applications of proteins in their daily lives! It’s sure to give them a taste for protein!

*A CREO production, presented by the PROTEO research group, RECIT Culture Éducation and the Montréal Science Center, with financial support from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.

*Our organization is included in the list of scientific culture organizations of the La culture à l’école program. Under certain conditions, our activities for school groups may be eligible for funding under the Volet scientifique of the La culture à l’école program.
