Becoming a member

Membership for regular and associate members

To join the network, applicants who meet the criteria (see bylaws document) must submit a written application (in a single PDF document), including the following documents:

• A letter of no more than two (2) pages, describing how their research program fits into PROTEO’s research focus;
• An up-to-date CV, clearly indicating affiliations, publications, research grants and/or contracts, students supervised over the past five (5) years, and any other relevant information.

Candidates’ applications will be evaluated at the next scheduled GA. A decision will be sent in writing within 15 working days following this GA.

Membership for industrial members

To become a member, the application must be supported by a regular member of PROTEO and submitted to the executive committee. The following documents are required (in a single PDF file):

• A letter of support from a regular member of PROTEO endorsing the application;
• The applicant’s updated resume.

Applications will be reviewed at the next executive committee meeting. A decision will be communicated in writing within 15 business days following the meeting. The effective date will be the first day of the month following the meeting.

Membership in the PROTEO Student, Postdoctoral Fellow and Research Professional Community

Any student or postdoctoral fellow supervised or co-supervised by a PROTEO regular member, as well as any research professional employed under a contract to carry out research activities under the supervision of a PROTEO regular member, automatically becomes a member of the PROTEO student, postdoctoral fellow and research professional community.

At the beginning of each term, regular members receive a registration form to share with new members of their laboratories so they can provide their contact information and be added to the PROTEO mailing list. If you are not receiving PROTEO communications, please contact proteo@uqam.ca.
