Guidelines for awarding intra-PROTEO internship grants
This program aims to provide financial support to PROTEO students, post-docs and research professional who wish to acquire practical knowledge and/or use cutting-edge infrastructure by undertaling an internship in the laboratory of a PROTEO member.
Description of scholarships
- Scholarships of up to $1,500 are awarded for an internship with a maximum duration of 10 days.
- These internships provide a practical training opportunity exclusively for PROTEO students, postdoctoral fellows, and research professionals, in the laboratories of a PROTEO researcher.
- The objective is to allow the acquisition of new technical skills, practical knowledge, and/or access to advanced research infrastructure.
- Financial support covers only internships taking place at institutions located outside the candidate’s city of residence.
Eligibility requirements
- Eligible applicants include:
- PROTEO student members enrolled full-time at the graduate level under the supervision of a regular member;
- PROTEO postdoctoral fellows and research professionals.
- A candidate may receive only one intra-PROTEO internship grant per degree level (M.Sc. or Ph.D.). Therefore, a person who has received a grant for a master’s internship may apply again at the doctoral level.
- The application must be approved by the research supervisor, who agrees to cover any costs not included in the grant, in accordance with the cost estimate provided in the application form.
- Applications must be submitted to proteo@uqam.ca before the start of the internship to ensure fund availability.
Application submission
Payment of the scholarship
- Payment of the scholarship (in the form of expense reimbursement) will be disbursed upon presentation of supporting documents for eligible expenses, up to a maximum of $1,500, and in accordance with PROTEO’s rules once the internship is completed (see Appendix Eligible Expenses).
