Amélie Fradet-Turcotte

Research Interests

  • DNA damage signalling and repair, the biology of the chromatin, molecular virology

Current Research Projects

  • Characterization of the function of chromatin during DNA damage signalling
  • Investigation of the role of new factors in the cellular response to agents causing interstrand crosslinks
  • Analysis of the mechanisms used by the human papillomavirus and human herpesvirus 6 proteins to hijack/inhibit host cell DNA damage response pathways

Tools and Expertises

  • Biochemistry (recombinant nucleosome reconstitutions, production of recombinant proteins, pull down, ubiquitylation assays)
  • Cellular biology and confocal microscopy (ex: detection of genomic instability, DNA repair kinetics)
  • Structure-function relationship of proteins.
