Current Research Projects

The Gobeil laboratory specializes in protein structural biology. More specifically, we are interested in the role of the conformational dynamics of viral fusion proteins (such as the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein) in the formation of protein-protein interactions. Our laboratory uses cryogenic electron microscopy (Cryo-EM), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and X-ray crystallography to elucidate at the molecular level the mechanisms underlying microbial infections.
