Michèle-Auger Award

Candidates must be graduate students or postdoctoral fellows under the supervision of a regular PROTEO member at the time of application.

The prize, consisting of $5,000 and a certificate, will be presented at the PROTEO Annual Symposium. The awardee must agree to deliver a lecture on that occasion.

The application package consists of :

  • a cover letter (2 pages maximum) describing the scientific achievements and leadership activities of the candidate
  • two letters of support
  • the most recent transcript
  • a CV

The complete application package and the two support letters should be sent electronically at proteo@uqam.ca no later than February 15, 2024.

About Michèle Auger

 

Born in Grand-Mère, QC, Michèle Auger merited a B. Sc. in Biophysics from UQTR. She obtained a Ph. D. in Chemistry from the University of Ottawa and undertook postdoctoral reseach at the MIT, specializing in solid-state NMR applied to proteins. She pursued an outstanding scientific career in molecular biophysics at Université Laval before losing her battle to cancer at too young an age, on October 2018. She has been a model for generations of scientists, especially for women. Her engagement in the scientific community and in promoting science was notable and inspiring.
