Writing Day for the PROTEO and Centre SÈVE Student Community – November 16, 2026

The PROTEO student committee, in collaboration with Centre-SÈVE, is organizing its first writing day for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.

The writing day will take place in person on Monday, November 16, 2026, simultaneously in Quebec City, at Université Laval, and in Montreal, at the Université du Québec à Montréal.

The day will follow the Pomodoro method, adapted here to 50-minute work sessions followed by 10-minute breaks. Come enjoy the benefits of working alongside others in a calm and supportive environment while making progress on tasks that require concentration, whether that means reading scientific articles, writing a master’s thesis, doctoral dissertation or research article, analyzing data, planning experiments, preparing scholarship applications, or working on any other task that can be done outside the lab.

This will also be a great opportunity to meet or reconnect with other student members of PROTEO and Centre SÈVE in a relaxed setting.
No need to bring your own lunch: lunch and snacks will be provided by your respective research networks. Bring everything you need to work (laptop, charger, headphones, comfortable clothing, etc.). We will provide extension cords, as well as pens and Post-it notes for writing down your goals and ideas if needed.

To participate, please complete the registration form. The registration deadline is November 3 at 5:00 p.m.
